Legacy Gift
Legacy gifts are a thoughtful way to make a positive impact on the next generation of civil engineers by providing future support to the ASCE Foundation through a planned gift. Planned giving options include wills, trusts, retirement funds, or insurance plans. Consult your attorney, and designate the ASCE Foundation as a beneficiary in your estate plans.
Notify us of your intent to give a planned gift by completing the Declaration of Intent Form online. Information that you share on the form will be kept confidential.
Bequest Language
A bequest allows you to leave the ASCE Foundation a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or a conditional gift after your lifetime. It is the easiest and most popular way for you to make a future, lasting commitment to us. To make your gift, please share the following wording with your attorney, who will add it to your will or living trust.
Specific Bequest
“I give and bequeath to the ASCE Foundation (EIN: 13-1635293), a qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization, located at 1801 Alexander Bell Drive, Reston, VA 20191, the sum of $__________ for its general purposes.”
Percentage Bequest
“I give and bequeath to the ASCE Foundation (EIN: 13-1635293), a qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization, located at 1801 Alexander Bell Drive, Reston, VA 20191, _________ percent of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate for its general purposes.”
Restricted Bequest
“I give and bequeath to the ASCE Foundation (EIN: 13-1635293), a qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization, located at 1801 Alexander Bell Drive, Reston, VA 20191, the sum of $_______________ (or property herein described) ___________________________, to be used for ________________ purposes. At any time, however, in the event the original purpose of the gift no longer exists as determined by the ASCE Foundation board, the ASCE Foundation board shall redirect the proceeds of this gift to another purpose as similar as possible as determined by the board.”
